Praying the Apostolic Prayers

Praying the Apostolic prayers

The LORD has given us the bible as a means to know Him and the eternal life to which we are called. Within His book are prayers that were prayed by the first Apostles, the Fathers of the eternal Church. These prayer are foundational for us understanding our existence as new creations. We understand that prayer is central to the Christian life, by it we receive power, direction, protection and provision from our Father. We also understand the revelatory power of seeing Jesus in prayer and proclamation and through that being transformed, 1 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the LORD, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the LORD who is the Spirit.” We have felt led by the LORD to pray for Tree of Life that God would reveal himself in a fresh way to our hearts that we might be lights in our city and equipped for the mission He has for us. We would like our fellowship to engage in experiencing the living reality of the apostolic prayers. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into the truth, and allow Him to empower and guide as you enter into the work of Jesus with your mind, soul, spirit and body. Enjoy!

Ephesians 1:17-19

“That the LORD Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might that He worked in Christ when He raised Him up from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all thins under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the Church, which is His body, the fulness of Him who fills all in all.”
