Confronting A Political Spirit

Listen as Paul Steiner explains the danger of a politial spirit and how it tries to thwart the work of God.  This message draws from insight from Galatians Chapter 2 where the Apostle Paul describes his actions to confront the spirit that was trying to thwart the work of God.  At one point he takes his message to Jerusalem, and at another he confronts Cephas in front of a crowd.  These were bold moves to ensure the that gospel would not be hindered and division would not take root.

The political spirit:

Introduced by those with an elitist mindset.
Appeals to reason/logic.
Hinders freedom/ introduces legalism.
Serves to preserve one’s position of power.
A gateway for the political spirit is the ‘fear of man’
Thrives when confrontation is unwelcome.

The political spirit is often overcome through assertive confrontation, and apostolic authority.
