Enjoy an evening together as we learn how to make sauerkraut from Inna Lye. Bring food & drinks to share; there will be childcare for children up to 9 years old/4th grade. The cost is $10 to cover the ingredients. Please sign up ahead of time so we can make sure to have ingredients for you!!
Please bring:
- Your own canning jars with lids. Wide-mouth work best. We will provide enough cabbage for you to make either 2-quart sized jars or 1-half-gallon jar. If you’d like to make more, bring extra cabbage. If you don’t have jars, let us know on the ladies’ thread–someone will have jars you can use!
- Extra add-ins for flavor if you’d like to try them: carrots, dill seed, Italian seasoning, onions, apples, cranberries, and purple cabbage. red peppers, garlic, spices
If you have these and can bring them, please do. Otherwise, we will share.
- cutting board
- Big knife, mandolin (bandaids)
- big mixing bowl
- scale to weigh the cabbage
- fermentation lids/weights if you have them
- sauerkraut pounder
